BAE Systems Applied Intelligence awarded ‘Cyber Security Outreach Provider of the Year’ by CyberSecurity Malaysia

The award is a recognition of the company’s commitment to improving cyber security awareness and understanding in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur | BAE Systems announced on 10 September 2015 that it has been awarded the ‘Cyber Security Outreach Provider of the Year’ by CyberSecurity Malaysia, the country’s cyber security specialist agency. This follows being awarded Cyber Security Company of the Year in 2014 by CyberSecurity Malaysia.

BAE Systems received the award in recognition of the company’s commitment to cyber security in Malaysia and for playing a key role in improving the understanding and importance of information security amongst citizens and businesses in the Country.

BAE Systems has a strong presence in Malaysia with over 275 employees in its Global Engineering Centre, located in Kuala Lumpur, which focuses on local delivery and global support of the company’s cyber and financial crime detection services.

Displaying further commitment to cyber security in Malaysia, BAE Systems was pleased to sponsor the Cyber Security Malaysia – Awards, Conference & Exhibition 2015 (CSM-ACE), which ran from 6 to 10 September and coincided with the final round of the CYBERSAFETM Challenge 2015.

CSM-ACE is a public-private-partnership annual knowledge sharing platform that gathers cyber security industry experts and community to exchange ideas on security management, policy and technology. Themed “Bridging the World – Go Cyber Green” this year, the CSM-ACE provided an opportunity for information security professionals to meet and discuss the implications of cyber security and cross border initiatives.

As strategic partner and sponsor, BAE Systems Applied Intelligence provided its expertise at a forum session entitled “A Real Rain – Cloud Technology”, focusing on the challenges, opportunities and latest developments in cyber security and cloud technology.

The CYBERSAFETM Challenge, an annual awareness programme and competition under the National ICT Security Discourse (NICTSeD) arranged by CyberSecurity Malaysia, has been taking place in Malaysia during August and BAE Systems has been a key sponsor of the Challenge.
